make-up

Well now you are preparing for a photo shoot... How are you going to do your make-up... What do you need to bring ??? Well that is a very good question.

Your make-up kit needs a few essentials to get started... at a good sale this basic kit should cost you very little to get going.

-Liquid Foundation: For those photoshoots that happen to be out doors... outdoor shoots don't require the coverage that studio lighting requires.
-Cake Foundation: For those studio sessions. There are many cake foundations available now in your local Pharmacy. Try Revlon, Maybelline or Covergirl, they all have a cake foundation available for a reasonable price.
-Mascara: black os great for most people... if you are fair however you may be better off with a brown/black so that it looks more natural. For Black and White however a black is certainly recommended.
-Liquid Cover-up: Revlon, Maybelline or Covergirl all provide good coverage...
-Eye Shadows:
-Lipsticks: You will need at least three colours.
1. Pale, try a glossy or nude
2. Medium, a colour that you would use during the day
3. Dark, a deep brown or red for those dramatic Black and whites
-Blusher combo: A nice natural blusher, and a deeper version to use for contours.
-Chapstick: Need I say more?
-Bronzer: this can add a nice over all glow, or be used as a blusher...

When choosing a foundation remember that the colour of your face skin and your body sometimes differ, you need to choose a colour that is close to your body colour due to the fact that photographs will capture all skin not just your face. You may need to have someone there helping you when you choose your colour... and be sure to test the colour on your jawline rather than your hand or middle of your cheek... here you are getting a better idea of how the foundation matches both your face and neck.

There are millions of great books out there that can offer tips as to how to apply make-up... so we won't try to rewrite what is already widely available... However we would like to recommend a few books that you should either pick up from the library or buy at your local book store.
